While the holiday season offers opportunities for cheer, the Jackson State University Police Department has issued safety tips to protect from not-so-festive crime.
Remember “the little things,” the department warns, and take these precautions:
— First and foremost, report all crimes when they happen.
— Never leave your books/bookbag unattended anywhere.
— Do not crack doors open to dorm entrances.
— Always lock your door.
— Never leave valuables visible in your vehicle.
— All dorm crimes are to be reported to the dorm counselor and the JSU Police Department.
— If you did not lend it out, it was stolen!
The JSU Department of Public Safety is located on campus behind the Student Center. It is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
