JSU Veterans Center to hold ‘Veterans Awareness’ events – Nov. 8 &10

The Jackson State University Veterans Center in collaboration with the VA Medical Center will hold Veterans Awareness Day on Thursday, Nov. 8.  All military veteran students are asked to report to the 2nd floor of the Jacob Reddix Building at 1 p.m.  There will be discussions related to education benefits, academic degree plans and government agency assistance.

The VA Medical Center Outreach Mobile Van Unit will be on the Gibbs-Green Plaza from 1-6 p.m. to allow veterans a chance to enroll in VA healthcare plans and to discuss other benefits.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m., the City of Jackson in conjunction with the Veterans Administration will have the 1st Annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Jackson.

JSU is hosting “Military Appreciation Day” at the JSU vs. Alabama A&M football game at 4 p.m.   All branches of active duty military, veterans and reservists must show valid military ID to purchase tickets for a discount price of $15. Discount tickets must be purchased in advanced at the JSU Athletics Ticket Office (601-979-2420) or at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium (601-354-6021).
