The Southwestern Athletic Conference recently released its 2016 Volleyball All-Conference team, and Jackson State University’s Lady Tiger Kianna Shelton was among those recognized.
The Montgomery, Ala., native was named as one of two middle blockers to the All-Conference Second Team. This season, she started in 31 matches for 102 sets played. She recorded 139 kills on 372 attacks for a .126 attack percentage.
Shelton also recorded six assists, four service aces, 23 digs, 29 solo blocks, and 62 block assists. As well, she has recorded 203.0 points to average 1.99 points per set.
The athlete ranks second on the JSU team in blocks per set, second in points, and third in receptions. She also ranks fourth in the conference in blocks.
Shelton and the rest of the JSU volleyball team will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 18, when the Lady Tigers host the 2016 SWAC Championship Volleyball Tournament.
JSU will take on Texas Southern at 6:30 p.m. in the T.B. Ellis Gymnasium. Come out and support the Lady Tigers as they compete for the 2016 SWAC Championship title.
