Lori Jackson Stewart, associate director for Campus Life at Jackson State University, was recently named Advisor of the Year during the Royal Academy Awards ceremony at the 12th Annual Leadership for Queens and King’s Konnection Conference in Memphis.
The Leadership for Queens and Kings’ Konnection annual conference is designed to provide leadership training for newly elected Kings and Queens at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and their advisors.
The Royal Academy Awards program was developed to honor HBCU kings and queens, and their advisors for outstanding achievements. Advisors are evaluated based on time of service, implementation of programs, development of leadership skills and ability to incorporate current trends and best practices.
Stewart has been the primary advisor for Miss Jackson State University and the Royal Court for three years. While serving as a presenter at the conference, she shared her professional expertise with other advisors during a session titled Life as an Advisor.
Jackson State University was one of 40 HBCUs that participated in the three-day conference held at the Peabody Hotel..

Congratulations, Ms. Lori J.!
JSU is blessed to have such a precious jewel. Ms. Lori J. treated me like her own since freshman year, and the SGA was truly a family because of her. Having her in attendance at my wedding and also graciously serve as the mistress of ceremony at our reception shows that the bonds that she creates are strong, and they last.
Being officially named as Advisor of the Year was a formality because she’s been Advisor of the Century in my books. 🙂
A Proud JSU Tiger
Congratulations, Ms. Stewart. May God continue to Blessing you as you impact the lives of so many students at Jackson State University.
Congratulations Lori!! I know there’s more of this to come. Continue the hardwork and creativity, because that’s what creates changes in the lives of others, and causes your mother to smile up above. Lori, always give of yourself (humanity) and allow for your gifts to touch others.

Your Big Sis
