
Jackson State University President Carolyn W. Meyers announces that Dr. Candis Pizzetta will serve as the university’s associate vice president for Research and Scholarly Advancement.
She will be responsible for working with faculty and administrators to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for promoting interactions between federal agencies and members of the university community.
“Dr. Pizzetta’s leadership of the Center for University Scholars was exemplary, and she has demonstrated a passion for faculty engagement and advancement. The energy and vision she brings to this new position promise to make her a valuable asset for the university,” says Dr. Loretta A. Moore, vice president for Research and Federal Relations.
Pizzetta said she will focus on enhancing and communicating the research efforts of faculty to the external community – a task she believes is vital to advancing the research priorities of the university.
Before assuming this position, Pizzetta served as an associate professor in the Department of English and Modern Foreign Languages. In addition, she is director of the Jackson State University Center for University Scholars – a position she will continue to assume.
