The MADDRAMA Performance Troupe will take the stage again to present On the Wings of Love, written by director Dr. Mark Henderson.
On the Wings of Love is an exciting showcase filled with drama, dance, and song that takes a cultural journey through the different stages of love – from the early stages of puppy love, through high school love, all the way to the ultimate point of love; the love for one’s self.
Henderson was inspired to write this piece to address the societal issue of the lack of love.
General admission is $10 and $5 for students and senior adults. The proceeds will aid MADDRAMA in attending the National Association of Dramatic and Speech Arts Festival and Competition in Baltimore. The organization is a professional affiliation of over 400 students, educators, administrators, designers, and playwrights, mostly from member historically black colleges and universities in theatre and speech arts across the nation. Each year, NADSA convenes an annual four-day conference, usually hosted by a member institution, featuring a series of competitions, workshops, performances, panels, and presentations.
Dates and times for the production are April 4-6 at 7:30 p.m and April 7 at 3 p.m. A special high school performance will be presented April 5 at 10 a.m.
