Jackson State University Director of Athletics Vivian L. Fuller has received a congratulatory letter from the NCAA commending her leadership and support of improved academic performance.

NCAA President and CEO Mark Emmert referenced the Public Recognition Award bestowed on teams with an NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports in 2011-2012.
JSU’s women’s tennis team received the honor this year. A letter also was sent to head tennis coach Scott Pennington.
“These teams represent intercollegiate athletics at its best. Once again, I congratulate you, the head coach, student-athletes, athletics department and institution for the outstanding academic achievements of these teams,” Emmert said.
