The Council on Social Work Education has named Carla Baskin the 2018 recipient of its Minority Fellowship Program.
The MFP Master’s fellowship is funded by a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The one-year fellowship provides a stipend, training, and professional development support.

CSWE fellows are direct-practice focus students dedicated to providing mental health or substance abuse services to underserved racial/ethnic minority communities, and have committed to working in direct behavioral health practice for two years after graduation.
MFP Master’s fellows must attend in-person training in Alexandria, VA and participate in virtual webinars throughout the duration of the fellowship year. Fellows must also commit to seeking employment, for at least two years, in the field of mental health and/or substance use disorder services or prevention with racial and ethnic minority populations immediately after graduation.
