[hr]Jackson State University campuses will be closed, and all classes are canceled on Monday, Feb. 15, in anticipation of the Winter Storm Watch and hazardous conditions. Please note the important information below.
STUDENTS
You may contact your professors regarding remote instruction and class assignments.
Meals will be available for pick up at Heritage Dining (only) during the following hours:
Brunch 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Dinner 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The food pantry will be open. Please check the housing website for hours of operation.
Furthermore, please heed the following:
- Please report any heat or water issues to your Resident Assistant or Hall Director as soon as possible.
- If you traveled home for the weekend, please remain home and stay safe if possible.
- The Health Center will be open 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15.
EMPLOYEES
Any employee who needs to report to work, including essential employees, will be notified in advance by their supervisor. Some employees (including all faculty) may be required by their supervisors to telework. Those employees who are not notified by their supervisor to work will be granted administrative leave.
Jackson State University will continue to monitor the situation closely and advise of any additional updates.
As previously reported, the Department of Facilities and Construction Management will be shutting down the chill water plants (AC systems) campus-wide to prevent damage caused by frozen and busted lines. Plant shutdowns will begin Saturday morning and will remain down until weather conditions permit restoration.This will not affect the heating capacity on campus.
