A Disability Awareness Informational will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 28, on the Gibbs-Green Pedestrian Walkway, according to Monica Wall-Jones, assistant director of Disability Services and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance.

A wheelchair basketball game of the Rolling Tigers versus Greek Unity will be the featured event 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Walter Payton Center.

A simulation informational is “any activity designed to give participants a sense of what it is like to experience a disability,” said Wall-Jones. That can include spending time in a wheelchair, going into a community blindfolded or playing sports with one arm tied behind the back, she said.

“Please come out and experience Disability Awareness Day and Wheelchair Basketball,” she said.

For more information about the events, call Wall-Jones at 601-979-3704.

The JSU office of Disability Services and ADA Compliance is located on the second floor of the Student Center, Suite 2100. For more information, see: https://www.jsums.edu/disability/2013/04/18/disabilities-services/
